Fenton Right to Life

       candlelight vigils

On January 22, 1973, with a 7-to-2 majority vote, the Supreme Court of the United States issued a decision that abortion is a fundamental right under the United States Constitution.
Since this 1973 decision over 60 million babies have died due to abortion.

The Candlelight Vigil is an observance of the anniversary of the Roe Vs. Wade Supreme Court Decision.

In 1983 the Christian Action Council Education and Ministries Fund, which is today known as Care Net, asked President Ronald Reagan to create a special day to focus on the intrinsic value of human life and the fundamental right to life, as recognized by the American Founding Fathers.
President Reagan issued a proclamation establishing a National Sanctity of Human Life Sunday (SOHLS). Since 1983, the SOHLS proclamation has also been issued by President George H. W. Bush, President George W. Bush, and President Donald Trump.

Prayer of Reparation

God and Father of Life, You have created every human person, and have opened the way for each to have eternal life.

We live in the shadow of death. Tens of millions of Your children have been killed thanks to the Roe vs. Wade decision legalizing abortion.

Father, have mercy on us. Heal our land and accept our offering of prayer and penance. In Your love for us, turn back the scourge of abortion.

May each of us exult in hearts full of hope and hands full of mercy and work together to build a culture of life.

We pray through Christ our Lord. AMEN!
